Prism Definitions

  • Local Offer: a BOLT12 Offer that was issued by the local lightning node.
  • Remote Offer: a BOLT12 offer that was issued by a remote lightning node.
  • Prism Offer: a special BOLT12 offer that splits incoming payments out to one or more Receiver Shares in accordance with a user-defined Split Distribution Function (SDF).
  • Prism Owner: the lightning node that issued the Prism Offer.
  • Receiver Share, aka split: in a Prism Offer, a split or receiver share is one of potentially many BOLT12 Offers that bitcoin may be directed to.
  • Outlay: the amount of bitcoin msats to be paid out to a Receiver Share.
  • Local Prism: a Prism Offer that was issued by the local lightning node.
  • Remote Prism: a Prism Offer that was issued by a remote lightning node.
  • Stub Offer: a BOLT12 Offer that IS NOT a Prism.
  • Local Stub Offer: a Stub Offer that was issued by the local lightning node.
  • Remote Stub Offer: a Stub Offer that was issued by a remote lightning node.
  • Implicit Pay-to-Self: a method of retaining funds that DOES NOT result in a transactional record. This is accomplished by reducing total outlays from the income amount.
  • Explicit Pay-to-Self: a method of retaining funds that results in an explicit transfer of funds. This us accomplished by creating a member that pays to a local stub offer.
